Oregon vs. Oklahoma State: Arsalan Kazemi had ‘fingerprints all over the game’ in March Madness win

Oregon was a trendy upset pick for many folks and showed why on Thursday.

The No. 12 seeded Oregon Ducks dispatched the fifth-seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys, 68-55, on Thursday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

With the victory, the Ducks are one step away from reaching the Sweet 16, but to accomplish that feat Oregon will have to beat the Atlantic 10's Saint Louis Billikens. The Billikens had no trouble with the New Mexico State Aggies on Thursday, hammering them 64-44.

Against Oklahoma State, the Ducks got large contributions from Damyean Dotson and Arsalan Kazemi. Dotson had a game-high 17 points while Kazemi was a force inside, amassing 11 points and 17 rebounds. To beat Saint Louis, that duo will once again need to rise to the occasion.

Over at our Oregon blog, Addicted to Quack, Jake Tabor writes that Oregon was able to pull away, due in large part to Kazemi:

The second half picked up much where Oregon left off, as the Ducks made the first two baskets of the half and never looked back. The Pokes never got closer than 10 as Oregon cruised in the second half to a 68-55 victory. Kazemi’s fingerprints were all over the game as the Ducks owned the boards evenly in both halves.

The time for Saturday’s game between Saint Louis and Oregon is yet to be announced.
