Kevin Ware injury: Louisville guard broke leg in two parts, out for a year
Rick Pitino confirmed that Louisville guard Kevin Ware broke his leg in two parts and will be out for at least a year. It’s a similar injury to the one Michael Bush suffered back in 2006.
The Louisville Cardinals routed the Duke Blue Devils to advance to the Final Four, but it came at a terrible price. Sophomore guard Kevin Ware suffered a grisly injury in the first half, breaking his leg after an awkward landing.
Ware was taken to a local hospital, and after the game coach Rick Pitino confirmed that his leg is broken in two parts, with the bone sticking six inches out of the skin, and will be out for at least a year. He also added that it’s the same kind of injury running back Michael Bush had back in 2006 with the football team.
Bush’s injury required a steel rod to be inserted into his leg. He missed both his senior year at Louisville and rookie year with the Oakland Raiders rehabbing from a broken tibia. His reaction to Ware’s injury was as unpleasant as you’d imagine:
Oohhhh shit I just cried. I feel so bad. #flashback of myself. Anyone if he needs anything please let me know. #teamware
