North Carolina basketball team stuck overnight in Atlanta Airport

With some brutal weather breaking out in the South, the Tar Heels are trapped in an airport before a crucial ACC contest.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are stuck in an Atlanta Airport because of some very inclement weather.

The team is stranded because of snow and ice in the area, which has locked up the interstates, according to Brian Frederick. North Carolina is in a bind with a game looming against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. ET.

In case you were wondering what the North Carolina team looked like stranded, guard Leslie McDonald provides us all with a glimpse:

The Tar Heels have already endured a rough season on the court, sitting 10th in the ACC standings with a 12-7, 2-4 mark. North Carolina is looking for its first conference road win of the season.

All of this should serve as a reminder that North Carolina is missing the presence of Tyler Hansbrough, who not only dominated the paint but apparently moonlighted as a badass on the road.
