The Miami Hurricanes are undefeated no more. After an impressive 8-0 start that included victories over Florida and Illinois, the Hurricanes met their match on Saturday against a talented squad from the Horizon League. Green Bay locked down on defense and received enough scoring from its starting backcourt to hang on for a 68-55 win over Miami in Coral Gables.

Green Bay held a big lead in the second half before Miami made a run. The Hurricanes turned up their pressure defense to force turnovers and score 11 unanswered points. The Phoenix would respond, protecting the ball and making their free throws to hold on for the team’s biggest victory of the season.

Carrington Love led Green Bay with 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals on 6-of-11 shooting. Star guard Keifer Sykes added 18 points on 5-of-15 shooting in the win. The Phoenix did not shoot particularly well from the field -- just 43.9 percent from the floor and 21.4 percent from three-point range -- but the defense was tough enough to get the best of the Hurricanes.

Miami shot just 32.8 percent from the field after entering the game averaging 76 points per contest. Deandre Burnett led the way for the Hurricanes with 21 points off the bench. Star guard Angel Rodriguez struggled all night, shooting just 2-of-15 from the field to finish with 12 points.
