Wichita State vs. Indiana State final score: Shockers clear another hurdle to an unbeaten season, 65-58

Indiana State climbed within two in the final 10 minutes, but the Shockers held on, moving one step closer to an undefeated regular season.

A Cleanthony Early three-point play put No. 4 Wichita State up by five with a minute to go and gave the Shockers momentum en route to a 65-58 win Wednesday night at Indiana State.

Wichita State is now 24-0 this season and has cleared perhaps its toughest hurdle on the way to an undefeated regular season:

Though the Shockers beat Indiana State by 20 earlier in the season at home, this one was close throughout. Wichita State led by one at halftime after the Sycamores closed the period on a 13-5 run. Indiana State then briefly took the lead to start the second half, but that was erased by five quick points from Early to start a 9-0 Shockers run.

The Sycamores pulled to within two later, but never led again.

Early led all scorers with 19 points and Tekele Cotton added 14 more. Manny Argo shot 7-15 from the field and scored 16 points to go with eight rebounds to lead Indiana State.

Wichita State has seven games remaining, with four of them on the road. The Shockers visit Northern Iowa on Saturday for a 9 p.m. ET tip on ESPN2. They also host Missouri State, who is in third place in the Missouri Valley Conference on Senior Day, March 1.
