The St. John's Red Storm delivered one of the biggest upsets on Sunday, upending the No. 12 Creighton Bluejays, 70-65. It's only the second conference loss of the year for Creighton, now 9-2 in Big East play.
Creighton vs. St. John’s final score: Red Storm score big upset over Bluejays, 70-65
St. John’s got a big upset win over Creighton on Sunday, a crucial Big East victory for the bubble team.

Doug McDermott was his usual self for Creighton, scoring 25 points, but the rest of the team let him down. D'Angelo Harrison led St. John's with 19 points, and Chris Obekpa added 11. Free throw shooting made a huge difference in this tightly contested game -- Creighton could only make 14 of 25 free throws, while the Red Storm drained 17 of 24.
St. John’s certainly impressed Creighton head coach Greg McDermott:

— Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) February 10, 2014 With the win, St. John’s moves to 15-9 on the season and 5-6 in conference play. The Red Storm are still very much on the tournament bubble, but beating Creighton will be a big feather in their cap. They travel to Seton Hall on Thursday. The Bluejays (19-4, 9-2) could see a slight drop in their AP ranking, but they have still won 14 of their last 16 games and their tournament picture shouldn’t be affected much by this outcome. They’ll face Butler on the road Thursday.
