Robert Foster Has Final Three Of Alabama, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh

One of the top uncommitted prospects in the country, Monaca (PA) Central Valley wide receiver Robert Foster revealed via Twitter in late September that he is down to three finalists -- the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

A 6-3, 175-pound receiver ranked as a five-star prospect by 247Sports and Scout, Foster is a national prospect with offers from many of the major programs around the country. The school that stands out in his top three is the Pittsburgh, the local school that many believe will land the consensus top-25 national player, as the Panthers try to go head-to-head with two of the top programs in the country.

The loss to Youngstown State to start the season probably didn’t help the cause for Pittsburgh, nor a loss to rival Cincinnati, but two victories in the last two games have righted the ship somewhat, and recruits don’t often make decisions based on nothing more than a loss or two. If anything, the problems scoring at time merely underline how needed Foster is in Pittsburgh.

Foster has taken two visits to Alabama since the spring, but it does not appear that he has lined up any official visits yet.

Considered a raw prospect with elite big-play ability due to his speed and ball skills, Foster is nevertheless raw as a receiver, though that likely would not stop him from contributing early at a school like Pitt that has serious need for threats at the wide receiver position.

From the WPIAL, Foster’s recruitment is more significant for the Panthers than just landing a five-star prospect -- as the area produces a significant amount of talent in the Pittsburgh area, making it a priority for the coaching staff.
