In the midst of Auburn’s collapse, several members of the Tigers’ recruiting class are looking around.
Auburn tight end commit Arshad Jackson to visit Florida State
Can Florida State flip this Auburn commitment?
One of those is Arshad Jackson, a talented tight end recruit. Out of Hampton, Ga.‘s Lovejoy High School, Jackson is a three- or four-star recruit, depending on the service. He originally committed to Auburn in late May, but with Auburn failing to win a single SEC game to this point, and head coach Gene Chizik on the hot seat, Jackson is justifiably concerned about his future at Auburn.
And to that end, he’ll me taking a visit to Florida State this weekend:
“FSU and Ole Miss are making the biggest push for me right now,” Jackson said. “I am going to see Florida State play Florida on Saturday, and I am looking forward to getting to know the coaches at Florida State better, seeing how they are on game day and how they utilize their tight ends in person.”
Jackson does have a connection to Florida State in his friend Davin Bellamy, a commitment at defensive end for the Seminoles.
At 6’6 and 240 pounds, Jackson is more of an athletic tight end than a blocker, but he should be able to develop his blocking in time.
Florida State is still in need of a tight end in its 2013 class, as previous commitment Christian Morgan, of Texas, decommitted early in football season and flipped to Ole Miss.
