Sebastian LaRue off to Texas A&M

    USA TODAY Sports

Sebastian LaRue had to decommit from USC, but he ended up in a pretty good situation in College Station. With LaRue signing his letter of intent to play for the Texas A&M Aggies, he now gets the chance to race down the field and catch footballs from Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and potentially compete for national championships down the road.

LaRue probably needs a year to work himself into college shape and be an every-down offensive player. But he could be ready to contribute immediately on special teams due to his electrifying athletic abilities. He plays numerous positions (receiver, safety and cornerback) and is very good at projecting his athleticism on the field.

After suffering some recent losses at the loaded wide receiver position, Texas A&M added another to the class on Friday when the news broke from Gigem247 that 2013 Santa Monica (Calif.) wide receiver Sebastian Larue had committed to the Aggies.

Larue had been committed for several days, but had wanted to make his announcement on ESPNU, a plan that apparently did not come together, so he gave Gigem247 the chance to break the news.

Texas A&M is expecting two significant prospects to visit for official visits this weekend as the Aggies try to wrap up an already successful 2013 class.

Santa Monica (Calif.) wide receiver Sebastian Larue decommitted from USC on January 2nd and will take the first of three pending official visits over the weekends before National Signing Day before putting his recruitment to rest once and for all, while Lancaster (Texas) defensive end Daeshon Hall continues to look around despite being pledged to Washington, his second school after decommitting from Texas in June.
