Last Thursday, in front of a national television audience tuned in to ESPNU, 2013 Sealy (TX) athlete Ricky Seals-Jones was wowing recruitniks across the country with his work on offense and defense, breaking off several long touchdowns runs virtually untouched by Houston (TX) St. Pius X defenders.
Ricky Seals-Jones Has Dislocated Knee, Is Planning Visits
A promising evening turned sour for a top national prospect last week.
After suffering a cramp that forced him to the sideline for several plays, Seals-Jones tracked down a defender and attempted to spin his opponent down. It worked, but not before the prospect known as RSJ torqued his left knee. At the time, it looked like a possible ACL injury, but his parents revealed after the game that the diagnosis was a dislocated kneecap.
On Tuesday, following his MRI, Seals-Jones revealed the prognosis via his Twitter page, which is set on private:

The typical timetable to return from such an injury is 4-6 weeks, depending on how the knee responds to treatment, which is good news for those who were worried that the high school career of Seals-Jones was in jeopardy as he lay in obvious pain on the stretcher before being taken off the field.
The news was not completely positive, however, as athletes who dislocate their kneecap have a 50% chance to suffer the same injury again. Still, the outcome was much better than initially feared, and Seals-Jones is too talented of a prospect for schools to back off due to an injury of this nature.
Moments after dropping the news on his injury, Seals-Jones also revealed his fall visit plans for the first time:

The three schools set to receive unofficial visits have hosted Seals-Jones several times each, but the 6’5, 230-pounder who will play wide receiver in college has not visited USC or Oregon. He had wanted to visit Eugene when he was out at The Opening, but could not do so due to NCAA regulations. The Trojans are interesting in that their 2013 class is full at this point -- it would take some attrition for Lane Kiffin and company to find room for the Sealy star.
There was some talk about Baylor being in the mix throughout the summer, and the Bears are a school that could potentially receive an official visit if Seals-Jones takes more than the two mentioned.
Ever since decommitting from Texas in the spring, Seals-Jones has maintained that the Longhorns are his top team, saying at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge that the odds of him recommitting to Texas were 75%, then had this to say in the middle of August:
Texas is still No. 1. They’re still No. 1 but it’s just mixed up still. When I sit down and talk to my parents and coach and make that decision, that’s when I’ll really know where I’m going to go. It’s all mixed up after that but it’s probably LSU or A&M after that.
