USC football recruiting: Eddie Vanderdoes, Matthew Thomas, Jalen Ramsey visiting Trojans

With National Signing Day just weeks away, the USC Trojans have a few key prospects visiting campus this weekend.

USC is expecting to welcome a nice group of official visitors this weekend as it tries to wrap up its 2013 recruiting class.

The biggest visitor of the weekend for the Trojans is Eddie Vanderdoes, a five-star defensive tackle from Auburn, Calif., Placer High School. At 6’3, 310 pounds, Vanderdoes is rated as the No. 1 defensive tackle prospect in the Class of 2013 by 247Sports and ESPN, while Rivals lists him as a four-star and the No. 4 player at his position.

Vanderdoes recently visited Notre Dame and will visit the South Bend again and Alabama before National Signing Day. He lists the Irish, Crimson Tide and Trojans, as well as Washington and UCLA as his favorites.

The Trojans will also look to convince uncommitted prospects Matthew Thomas, a consensus five-star linebacker from Miami, Fla., Booker T. Washington High School, and Quinton Powell, a consensus four-star linebacker from Daytona Beach, Fla., Mainland High School.

USC is hosting three prospects currrently committed to other schools: Wahsington commit Demorea Stringfellow, a four-star wide receiver from Moreno Valley, Calif., Rancho Verde High School, and two Oregon commits, four-star athlete Tyree Robinson and four-star linebacker Tyrell Robinson, brothers from San Diego, Calif., Lincoln High School.

USC is also expecting visits from committed recruits including Jalen Ramsey, a five-star cornerback from Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, Khaliel Rogers, a consensus four-star center from Elkton, Md., Eastern Christian High Schol, Steven Mitchell, a consensus four-star wide receiver from Mission Hills, Calif., Bishop Alemany High School, Michael Hutchings, a four-star linebacker from Concord, Calif., De La Salle High School, Nico Falah, a four-star offensive tackle from Bellflower, Calif., St. John Bosco High School and Jason Hatcher, a four-star defensive end from Louisville, Ky., Trinity High School.
