Cameron Burrows enrolls at Ohio State

Cameron Burrows was the first commitment in Ohio State’s 2013 class, and he’s now officially enrolled in school.

Cameron Burrows, a defensive back out of Trotwood-Madison High School (OH), is one of Ohio State’s early enrollees in the class of 2013. Burrows enrolled on Jan. 7, and he’ll be eligible to participate in spring drills with the team.

Burrows is one of the best defensive backs in the class of 2013, and SB Nation’s Land-Grant Holy Land believes he has a chance to see playing time as a true freshman for the Buckeyes:

While it’s obviously possible depth/need could necessitate a switch to free safety in the not too distant future, the plan for now seems to be to go ahead with Burrows not only competing for a role as a piranha on the kick coverage team, but also potentially be in the mix for the fourth defensive back spot with an outside shot (though not impossible odds wise) at some reps at nickel.

Burrows stand 6’0” and weighs 203 pounds, according to Rivals. Burrows is rated as a four-star player by 247Sports, and the seventh-best cornerback in the class. Rivals rates him similarly, as they consider him the sixth-best player at his position. He had offers from Michigan, Stanford, Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Tennessee, among others.

Recruitment timeline: Burrows took an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Nov. 8, 2011, and he became the first member of OSU’s 2013 class when he committed in January of 2012. Following that commitment, Burrows didn’t bother to visit other schools.
