The TCU Horned Frogs lost an important commitment along the offensive line on Tuesday evening when Dallas (Texas) Skyline offensive tackle Ty Barrett decided to open up his recruitment.
Semper Fi All-American Ty Barrett decommits from the TCU Horned Frogs
One of the top offensive tackles in Texas once again has an open recruitment.

Pledged to the Horned Frogs since August of 2013, Barrett made the announcement via Twitter, but appears to have removed the tweet that read, "I have opened my recruiting back up!! #TCU is indeed still in it but I have decommitted!"
The 6’4, 300-pounder had taken a visit to see the Arizona State Sun Devils over the weekend and has a planned trip to Central Florida for next weekend.
A consensus three-star prospect, Barrett is ranked as the No. 36 offensive tackle nationally, the No. 51 player in the state of Texas, and the No. 423 player in the country. Prior to his commitment to TCU, he held offers from Baylor, Duke, Houston, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Rice, SMU, Texas Tech, Washington State, and West Virginia.
Barrett was long thought to be an Oklahoma lean, with Ole Miss also a school in contention, but it’s not clear if he is still considering those schools or if they still have room for him.
It also seems unlikely that Barrett would recommit to TCU after a short period of having his recruitment opened -- otherwise, why would he have opened up his recruitment again in the first place?
And so far, there hasn’t been a major trend in the Crystal Ball predictions for Barrett, though one has come in for Arizona State and two for Central Florida, the two schools that appear to be the most likely destinations for the talented tackle.
