Four-star TE Bryce Dixon commits to the USC Trojans

One of the nation’s top tight ends is now off the market, having chosen his college for the next four years.

Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure tight end Bryce Dixon has committed to the USC Trojans at the 2014 US Army All-American Bowl, electing to play his college football for new head coach Steve Sarkisian.

UCLA and USC emerged finalists over 15 other reported offers from schools like Texas A&M, Oregon, Arizona, California, and Ohio State.

The Trojans will be more than happy to have him, as Dixon has a tremendous, college-ready frame that could allow him to contribute immediately as a freshman. The 6’4, 220-pound Dixon is considered the second ranked tight end in the 2014 class, behind only South Jordan (Utah) Bingham’s Dalton Schultz.

A top-120 prospect according to the 247sports composite, Dixon is a consensus four-star player, and the 10th-ranked player in the state of California this year, although some recruiting services have him slightly lower than that.

Dixon is the 14th pledge for the Trojans in the 2014 class and will help USC move up from the No. 37 national ranking in the 247Sports Composite team rankings the school held prior to Dixon’s pledge.
