Austin Kendall looking to add more offers

The Charlotte Christian product already has seven offers even though his sophomore year of high school hasn’t ended yet.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte (N.C.) Christian quarterback Austin Kendall didn’t have to travel far to participate in the Charlotte Nike Football Training Camp last Saturday at Ardrey Kell High School, where he flashed the ability that has already earned him seven offers.

The 6’2, 205-pound pro-style quarterback is a 2016 prospect, but already has offers from Charlotte, Clemson, Kentucky, NC State, Tennessee, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

All of those offers stand out for Kendall early, with a decision planned for after his upcoming junior season.

One school that the Charlotte Christian product would like to hear from is Georgia -- his father was a walk-on quarterback there, so he grew up watching the Bulldogs. He’s already made several trips to Athens and has another visit planned in the upcoming weeks.

Another school Kendall would like to hear from? The Oklahoma Sooners. The Sugar Bowl win against Alabama caught his attention and he likes the way that the Sooners run their offense.

Two schools that he believes could be close to offering are North Carolina and UCLA. The Tar Heel coaches want to see him throw in person before extending an offer, while a summer trip see the Bruins and do the same could help him earn the UCLA offer. Auburn is another school expected to come by Charlotte Christian to evaluate Kendall.

Other than Georgia, Kendall is also planning trips to Clemson and Tennessee in the near future, as he hopes to catch spring practices at both schools.

The Tigers are an appealing school for him because of his relationship with the coaching staff and the offense run by Chad Morris, while the Volunteers have great facilities and a strong coaching staff of their own.

Kendall is looking for three things in his recruitment -- a good relationship with the coaching staff, a school that he could see himself at if he wasn’t playing football, and a school with strong academics.
