CHARLOTTE, NC -- One of the many prospects with something to prove at the Charlotte Nike Football Training Camp on Saturday at Ardrey Kell High School was Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek defensive end Joshua Brown, whose performance earned him defensive line MVP honors.

The local product was one of the top defensive linemen in attendance.
The 6’3, 212-pounder in the class of 2016 is still looking for his first offer, but has received mail from Clemson, Georgia, NC State, and Notre Dame.
A threat off the edge as a rusher, Brown is a West Virginia native who wants to hear from his home-state Mountaineers, as well regional power Clemson.
“I’ve been going to their camps since seventh grade and I’ve liked that experience, I just like everything about it -- I like their facilities, I like their coaches and I’ll be back there for another camp this summer. I love working with the defensive line coach, coach Hobby” Brown said when asked about the Tigers.
Over his spring break, Brown will make his way out to California to visit USC, UCLA, and Stanford, and plans on camping at West Virginia this summer, in addition to Clemson.
The NFTC was an opportunity for Brown to develop his work with his hands, always a point of emphasis for the coaching staff, while he’s working on gaining bulk during spring practice, a process that could help him land more interest as he adds the weight that will be necessary to play defensive end at the next level.
There’s still plenty of time for that and if Brown puts together a junior season as impressive as his work on Saturday, the offers will start coming in.
