LSU QB calls for nation’s top defender to re-commit to the Tigers

The country’s top-rated linebacker is a Baton Rouge native who’s currently playing at IMG Academy in Florida.

Myles Brennan is one of two quarterbacks in LSU’s 2017 class, but rather than focusing on who he’ll be throwing to in college, Brennan’s recruiting goal is to get linebacker Dylan Moses back in Baton Rouge.

The five-star recruit decommitted from LSU before the 2015 season and is the No. 2 player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. Moses hasn’t released a top schools list, but he did visit LSU during his spring break in March.

“He was committed to LSU early, decommitted, and now has LSU back in his top. His hometown is in Baton Rouge, he’s from Baton Rouge. I feel like that’d be a huge commitment for LSU,” Brennan told SB Nation at The Opening’s Elite 11 finals this week.

Brennan, a three-star recruit, is the No. 18 pro-style quarterback in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. LSU also has four-star dual-threat quarterback Lowell Narcisse committed in the class of 2017.

Brennan picked Peyon Manning as the NFL quarterback he idolizes the most, and has a closer connection with him than other recruits do.

“We’re close, we actually have a relationship with the family,” Brennan said. “He’s one guy that I definitely watch on Sundays. Considering he’s from the south, New Orleans, and he’s family’s down there, he’s a guy I’d like to model.”

Speaking of Moses, he’s nearby at The Opening:
