Four-star wide receiver Jordyn Adams has signed with North Carolina. At The Opening, Adams made public his verbal commitment to the Tar Heels over fellow finalist Clemson. Adams, from Cary, N.C., held offers from 18 other schools.
4-star WR Jordyn Adams signs with UNC. But have you seen him dunk?
He’s a multi-sport star, and that doesn’t even include what he can do on the basketball court.

SB Nation caught up with Adams at a Nike Regional camp from Charlotte in May.
As far as his playing style goes, Adams says he models his game after two well-known receivers — former Ohio State turned Houston Texans receiver Braxton Miller and former LSU and current New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr. Adams said Miller’s ability to play different positions is something he can emulate.
“His versatility, he’s played different positions like I have,” Adams said of Miller. “His hands and his explosiveness with the football in his hands.”
He also has a basketball pedigree, and gained some internet notoriety for throwing down this absolutely savage dunk.
Adams plays both baseball and football, and Clemson was apparently recruiting him to play for both teams. Clemson is a consistent ACC power in baseball.
But Adams also had some strong family ties with the UNC program. His father, Deke Adams, is the Tar Heels’ defensive line coach. Deke was on Larry Fedora’s initial UNC staff in 2012, and he went on to coach at South Carolina and East Carolina before returning to UNC. The Tar Heels are recruiting Jordyn for baseball, too, and Adams will have to make a choice there about his future.
“Me and Coach Brewer, we have a really good relationship,” Adams said of UNC recruiting coordinator Gunter Brewer in May. “We had one when my dad was there for about five years, so me and him have known each other for a while. And then baseball, they’re really recruiting me hard to come there too.”
Adams visited UNC earlier in June for one of the Tar Heels’ camps. He visited Clemson in late January on an unofficial visit.
