David Ash injury: Texas QB leaves for X-rays on left wrist

The starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns left the field in the fourth quarter with a wrist injury and will most likely not return to the game.

In the midst of a Texas size blowout, sophomore quarterback David Ash injured his wrist in the fourth quarter and promptly went to the locker room to have x-rays done. It’s being called a wrist contusion.

Reports and photos of the injury are not looking good.

The Oklahoma Sooners are currently beating the Texas Longhorns 56-15. Ash, along with the rest of the Texas offense, struggled. He was only 13-for-29 with 113 yards passing and two interceptions. He is also the team's leading rusher with six carries for 16 yards.

Ash had thrown 1,276 yards on the season with 11 touchdowns and only one interception prior to today's game. Junior backup quarterback Case McCoy took over for Ash. McCoy has only thrown in the 45-0 win over New Mexico on Sept. 8, and has thrown 1,098 yards and eight touchdowns over his collegiate career - with a majority of that production coming from last season.
