Marcus Lattimore, Jadeveon Clowney return to practice

South Carolina players Marcus Lattimore and Jadeveon Clowney returned to practice Thursday as they prepare for the Florida Gators this Saturday.

The South Carolina Gamecocks received some good news Thursday as star players Marcus Lattimore and Jadeveon Clowney returned to practice Thursday according to Travis Haney on ESPN.

Lattimore has been hobbled with a bruised hip all week, and after missing practice Wednesday, Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier feared that Lattimore might miss this weekend’s game against the No. 2 Florida Gators. With Lattimore back at practice, he should play at least a small part in the game Saturday.

Clowney was one of a six players that missed practice Wednesday due to the flu, but the All-American candidate was healthy enough to return to practice Thursday and should be able to play against the Gators.

Other players that returned to practice after being diagnosed with flu included wide receivers Ace Sanders and Bruce Ellington, cornerback Jimmy Legree and offensive linemen Cody Gibson and Mike Matulis.

Defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles missed practice again on Thursday with a lingering shoulder injury and will not travel with the team to Gainesville.
