Marcus Lattimore injury: South Carolina RB will travel, won’t start vs. Florida

South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore will not start for the Gamecocks due to a hip bruise suffered last Saturday against LSU.

South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore will travel with the team as it takes on the No. 2 Florida Gators, but the junior running back will not start, according to David Cloninger of GamecockCentral.com.

Lattimore has been battling a bruised hip that he suffered against LSU last Saturday and missed Wednesday’s practice due to the injury. Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier was unsure if Lattimore would be able to play this weekend after Wednesday’s practice, but Lattimore was able to show trainers and the coaching staff that he is healthy enough to play in Saturday’s game.

According to Cloninger, senior Kenny Miles will get the start for the Gamecocks this Saturday. Miles has rushed for 100 yards this season on 27 carries and recorded a touchdown against the Kentucky Wildcats on Sept. 29. Miles' best game of the season came against the Georgia Bulldogs on Oct. 6, as he rushed for 39 yards on 10 carries in South Carolina's 35-7 victory.
