Jerry Sandusky scandal: Victim 1 reveals identity

One of former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky’s sexual abuse victims has come forward and revealed his identity.

Aaron Fisher, the person previously know as ‘Victim 1’ in the case against Jerry Sandusky, revealed his identity in an interview with ABC news that will be aired on Friday.

The interview details how Sandusky gained Fisher’s trust when he was 11 years old by acting as a “father figure,” taking him to sporting events and encouraging him as an athlete. Eventually, Sandusky began inviting Fisher to his house for weekends, and that is where the abuse happened.

Sandusky continued coming after Fisher as he aged into high school. He was a volunteer high school coach and Fisher did all he could to avoid the predator at school. Fisher even details one specific encounter, where Sandusky became aggressive in his pursuit:

“He once followed my bus home from school. He told me to get in the car. I took off running. He drove on the opposite of the street, onto oncoming traffic to catch up with me, and then I ran up an alley, he went to my house and parked out front,” Fisher told Chris Cuomo. “Yeah, it was that bad.”

The former Penn State defensive coordinator, Sandusky, was convicted of sexually abusing ten boys over the span of 15 years in June. He was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison.
