The No. 12 Florida State Seminoles made it look easy against the Duke Blue Devils today, cruising to a 48-7 victory in Doak Campbell Stadium on a balanced offensive attack and a stout defensive performance.

Florida State’s EJ Manuel completed just half of his 16 pass attempts, but was able to earn 282 passing yards and a pair of scores doing so. His top targets were Rodney Smith and Kelvin Benjamin, who combined for 189 yards and a score on six catches.
Duke struggled against the Florida State defense, amassing just 232 total yards of offense on the day. Their lone touchdown came on a Jela Duncan three yard rush in the second quarter. Duke had many opportunities to score, opportunistically recovering four Florida State fumbles, but had a tough go capitalizing off of Seminole mistakes.
With the win, Florida State improves to 8-1 (5-1, ACC) on the season.
Box Score Hero: Florida State halfback Devonta Freeman was intstrumental in the Seminoles’ success today, rushing for 104 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries.
Rankings Ramifications: Florida State is could get a bit of a bump in the polls with this win over a bowl-eligible Duke Blue Devils team.
But Did They Cover? Duke did not cover the 27 point spread.
