Former Arkansas linebacker Bret Harris has been charged with felony terroristic threatening. Harris was arrested by local police on Tuesday. He remains in custody with bail set at $20,000, according to Arkansas News. He has a hearing set for Friday morning, and a court date on Nov. 2.

According to the Arkansas News article, Harris threatened university employee Matthew Summers via Twitter. Harris allegedly tweeted “Hey Matt remember I checked your (expletive) for questioning me?” and “You set me up to be placed in Springwood. I am going to kill you.” Police arrested Harris in response to the tweets.

Summers is listed as the school’s head athletic trainer. He is believed to work with the Arkansas football team. It’s unclear what his relationship is to Harris, who played linebacker for the Hogs from 2007-2011.

While at Arkansas, Harris often received recognition for his efforts in the classroom. Harris made the SEC Academic Honor Roll in both 2009 and 2010, according to the athletic department website.
