The BYU Cougars pulled out a tough victory over Utah State on Friday night, but they did not do so without suffering a potentially serious injury. With the game essentially over in the fourth quarter, freshman quarterback Taysom Hill appeared to injure his leg after taking a big hit while running the ball. SB Nation’s BYU blog, Vanquish The Foe, has learned Hill is undergoing X-rays on his leg. They believe it could be a serious injury.
As BYU was putting the finishing touches on a 6-3 win over Utah State on Friday, quarterback Taysom Hill ran a four-yard draw. It was BYU’s final play before opting to kneel the ball and run out the clock. Vanquish The Foe has learned that Taysom Hill is being X-rayed for possible leg injuries following that play.
No details have been released about when the team will have the results back or when they will be announced publicly. The true freshman has played very well for the Cougars this season, throwing for 425 yards and four touchdowns since taking over the offense three weeks ago. BYU has had multiple issues with their quarterbacks this season, and if Hill has to miss time it would likely be James Lark as the starter.
