Former Penn State president Graham Spanier will be indicted on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice Tuesday in connection to the Jerry Sandusky scandal, reports Paula Reed Ward of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Spanier, who served as the school’s president from 1995 to 2011, when he was forced to resign in the wake of the Sandusky scandal, has long denied the same knowledge of the details of the former assistant coach’s sexual abuse that former athletic director Tim Curley and former vice president business Gary Schultz allegedly had. Both Curley and Schultz have already been assessed with similar perjury charges. However, the Freeh Report included an email from Schultz referencing a 1998 University Police investigation into Sandusky’s actions and indicated the the president was indeed aware of sexual abuse by Sandusky occurring in a Penn State shower in 2001.

Spanier and his attorneys have criticized the Freeh report and continued to deny that there is any evidence the former university president was aware of Sandusky’s abuse.
