But if you take the word “Conference” from the name of pretty much any league with divisions, you get something funny. From FBS alone:

At the Division II level, there’s a Northern Sun North and a Northern Sun South, but nothing can top D3’s New England Football Conference, which goes with Boyd and Bogan as division names.
And then there’s Pac-12 North and Pac-12 South, which aren’t funny at all.
