Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma St. 2012 final score: Sooners take Bedlam Bell with overtime win, 51-48

Landry Jones completed 46 of 71 pass attempts for 500 yards and three touchdowns.

After more than 100 matchups between the No. 13 Oklahoma Sooners and No. 21 Oklahoma State Cowboys, the first ever overtime game in the Bedlam Series ended with the Sooners taking the Bedlam Bell after a 51-48 victory.

With just more than six minutes remaining in the game, Landry Jones led the Sooners on a 17-play drive that spanned 83 yards before quarterback Blake Bell ran in the game-tying score from 4 yards with just four seconds remaining in overtime.

The Sooners began the overtime period on defense and forced Oklahoma State to kick a field goal. While the 26-yard field goal by Quinn Sharp gave the Cowboys the lead, it took Oklahoma just two plays before Brennan Clay ran for an 18-yard game-winning touchdown.

The Bedlam Series has been historically dominated by the Sooners. With the victory, OU improves to an 83-17-7 all-time record in the football series.

Box Score Hero: Landry Jones will need to put an ice-pack on his arm after throwing a career-high 71 pass attempts, completing 46 for 500 yards passing and three touchdowns.

Rankings Ramifications: Both teams were ranked, as the Sooners entered as the higher-ranked team. The victory is unlikely to move the Sooners up too much, but could be enough to drop OSU out of the top 25.

But Did They Cover? Oklahoma was a 6.5-point favorite in most sportsbooks, and didn’t cover the spread despite the victory.
