The above was not the only time in the second half that Clemson was hit with a bad pass interference call -- here, Jonathan Meeks is doing nothing but going for the ball, and it's not his fault he's better positioned for it.
South Carolina vs. Clemson: Flags all over the place
Clemson was the victim of some officiating that’s universally been described as subpar, while D.J. Swearinger went all pro wrestler. South Carolina leads, 20-17, in the fourth.
On the other end, D.J. Swearinger decided to do this, which likewise drew a (probably more justifiable) flag (via @cjzero):
Twitter especially hated those PI calls, as did Tigers fans in attendance:
After that last PI call Clemson fans have begun to throw objects onto the field, lot of debris falling into the east end zone

When in doubt, don't call pass interference. Damn, stripes. It ain't that tough.

The 2nd pass interference call on Clemson was brutal.

That's two pretty iffy p.i. calls on #Clemson. First one was borderline; second was hogwash

Another PI call against Clemson and referee in the corner had half dozen bottles/debris thrown at him.

BULLSHIT these refs are fucking us

It did stop working at one point, though:
Big turning point in South Carolina-Clemson. Gamecocks patented 3rd-and-bad-pass-interference-call-to-go play finally didn't work
