The No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners survived a third-quarter scare from the Iowa State Cyclones and rolled to a 35-20 victory on Saturday afternoon in Ames, Iowa.
Oklahoma vs. Iowa State final score: Sooners defeat Cyclones, 35-20
No. 12 Oklahoma bounced back from its loss to Notre Dame last weekend by going on the road and defeating Iowa State on Saturday afternoon.

Iowa State running back Jarvis West's 19-yard touchdown run with less than six minutes left in the third quarter got the Cyclones to within a score at 21-13. However, the Sooners responded with an eight-play, 68-yard drive which was capped off by an 18-yard scoring run from Brennan Clay. The Sooners created more breathing room early in the fourth quarter when quarterback Landry Jones connected with wide receiver Kenny Stills for a 31-yard touchdown strike to make it a 35-13 game.
Iowa State tried to make it interesting late, getting a 2-yard TD run from Shontrelle Johnson at the 6:32 mark. The Cyclones moved the ball into Oklahoma territory on their next possession, but quarterback Steele Jantz threw an interception, putting an end to the comeback attempt.
Box Score Hero: Jones worked around a couple of interceptions to complete 32 of 45 passes for 405 yards and four touchdowns. Clay, who ran 21 times for 130 yards and a score, deserves a look here as well.
But Did They Cover? The Sooners entered the game as 13-point favorites, so they covered. The two teams exceeded the over/under, which was set at 51 prior to the game.
