The Ohio State Buckeyes announced on Monday that All-Big Ten defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins will forego his senior season of eligibility with the program and will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Ohio State Buckeyes defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins has announced his intentions to forego his senior season and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

In the team release, Hankins is quoted thanking the coaching staff who brought him in and the coaching staff under Urban Meyer, who helped him play so well in 2012.
Hankins, as one of the top defensive tackle prospects, is expected to go high in the draft. Defensive linemen are always at a premium in the top end of the first round, and Hankins, depending on where you look, is considered one of the top three DTs projected to enter this next draft.
Defensive tackles have been taken highly in just about every draft of late. Between 2004-2011, a defensive lineman was taken in the top five every season.
Hankins started every game in his sophomore and junior seasons, and appeared in 38 games over his career with Ohio State. He wraps up his Buckeye career with 138 tackles (50 solo, 80 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.
