Matt Rhule expected to be new Temple football coach, according to reports
The Temple Owls are reportedly expected to name New York Giants assistant Matt Rhule as their new head coach on Monday.

Rhule has had a long career in college football, bouncing around from school to school before getting the job with the Giants. He has worked at Temple before, acting as their quarterback coach, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at various times from 2007 to 2011. His other college work throughout his career has included gigs at Albright, Buffalo and Western Carolina.
Here’s his most recent college bio, from his assistant coach days at WCU.
Miami defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio was also reportedly in the running for Temple’s head coaching position, but pulled out. There had also been rumblings of Philadelphia Eagles coordinator (and former Temple student) Todd Boyles being a candidate for the vacancy, but he clearly wasn’t in the mix at the end.
Notre Dame’s Bob Diaco and former FIU coach Mario Cristobal were also among those reportedly in the running.
