Sam Houston State vs. Eastern Washington: Streaming, TV coverage, radio and more

Sam Houston State will be looking to make a return trip to the FCS national title game, but first, they must get past Eastern Washington.

James Snook-US PRESSWIRE

Sam Houston State will be facing their third-straight Big Sky opponent in the 2012 FCS playoffs as they take on Eastern Washington Saturday afternoon. The game will be played on the blood-red field known as The Inferno, and the winner will get to advance to the FCS national title game in Frisco, Texas on Jan. 5.

Playing at Eastern Washington is no easy feat. The Eagles are undefeated at home this year, and have won 13 straight dating back to Nov. 1, 2010. All three of Sam Houston State’s losses have come on the road this season.

If Eastern Washington can win at home, they will become the fourth Big Sky team in the last five years to reach the FCS national title game, and it would be their first appearance since being crowned the national champions in 2010.

Being in the Big Sky, Eastern Washington feels confident that they have played the difficult schedule and will be prepared for their matchup against Sam Houston State.

Sam Houston State has been led by their defense, which has allowed just 32 points in their two playoff wins. Plus, running back Tim Flanders has been able to control the ground with two straight 100 yard games.

Eastern Washington has used their offense to advance in the playoffs, most particularly in their last game where they easily defeated Illinois State, 51-35. Sam Houston State will be the best defense the team has faced during these playoffs.
