San Diego head coach Ron Caragher has accepted the same position at San Jose State, according to a tweet from Pete Roussel of Coaching Search and Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News. Caragher, who went 44-22 in six years at USD, will replace the departed Mike MacIntyre, who left for Colorado, after spending the last six years at USD.
Ron Caragher new San Jose State football coach, according to multiple reports
San Diego’s Ron Caragher is said to be leaving to take the same spot at San Jose State.

The move makes sense for Caragher, who is from the area and attended high school at San Jose’s Bellarmine College Prep. Caragher was part of the coaching staff when Jim Harbaugh left USD for Stanford. Caragher replaced Harbaugh, and now, Caragher replaces MacIntyre.
Caragher was once a member of the UCLA Bruins staff after playing his collegiate ball at the school. He spent seven of his nine years on the staff as the wide receivers coach and was in charge of the Ventura County-to-San Francisco recruiting region for the team.
