Utah State Aggies offensive coordinator Matt Wells will be the next head coach for the school, according to a report from Football Scoop.
Matt Wells likely to stay at Utah State, according to report
The offensive coordinator appears to be staying in Utah to become a head coach.

With four-year Utah State head coach Gary Andersen headed for the top job with the Wisconsin Badgers, it was initially thought that Andersen would take his entire staff with him to Madison. Now, it appears the school has been able to woo Wells into staying in Logan.
This coincides with reports from Tony Jones, the Utah State football beat writer for the Salt Lake Tribune. Jones tweeted on Wednesday night that Wells emerged as the lead candidate and could be named the Aggies’ new head coach in the next 24 hours. Jones also tweeted that “Wells has been on the phone with key Utah State players extensively in the past 24 hours.”
Wells, 38, was quarterbacks coach at Utah State in 2011 and the offensive coordinator in 2012. In both seasons, the Aggies set and then broke school record for total yards in a season. Under his offensive guidance, Utah State (11-2) won 10 or more games in a season for the first time in school history.
