How to watch Alamo Bowl online, TV schedule, radio and more

The Texas Longhorns and Oregon St. Beavers face off in one of the more intriguing matchups of the bowl season.

Steve Dykes

The Texas Longhorns and Oregon St. Beavers are almost supposed to play each other. Both teams come into the Alamo Bowl with similar trajectories to their seasons, starting fast and finishing with question marks.

The Longhorns got off to a 4-0 start and had dreams of the BCS but split their last eight games to finish a disappointing 8-4. They've started two different quarterbacks this season in David Ash and Case McCoy and they still don't know who will start for the Longhorns in the game.

The Beavers started 6-0, but haven't won two straight games since, finishing with a 9-3 record. Though it was a major improvement from last year's three-win campaign and they're playing in a bowl game for the first time since 2009, the Beavers had bigger dreams once they started so hot. They also have a quarterback controversy as Sean Mannion and Cody Vaz both have started and been injured this season and head coach Mike Riley doesn't know who he will go with first against the Longhorns.

Now, both teams come in wanting to prove that their early season success was no fluke and to represent their conferences in a game that produced one of the most epic shootouts ever last year when Baylor beat Washington.
