The San Diego State Aztecs are headed back to the Mountain West Conference. It remains to be seen if the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will take their spot in the Big East. Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World files his latest report which has Tulsa without an invitation to either conference, although that might change with a slot now open in the Big East.
Big East, Mountain West could also battle over Tulsa
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane could get an invite from the Big East now that the Mountain West has taken the San Diego State Aztecs back.

The Mountain West will stand at 12 schools with the addition of San Diego State, giving the conference the necessary number of schools required for a conference championship as well as further prestige as one of the best mid-major conferences. The MWC might be interested in Tulsa, although it’s probably not quite as pressing as before now that the Aztecs and Boise State are staying.
This could mean Tulsa ends up in the Big East over the Mountain West, joining multiple other Conference USA schools like UCF, Houston, Memphis and SMU (who are leaving this year) as well as East Carolina and Tulane (leaving in 2014).
San Diego State decided to pass on the Big East offer that would have made it a football-only school in the conference. The Aztecs returned to the Mountain West, which has been their home since the inception of the conference in 1999.
