Elite running back recruit Taquan Mizzell got into trouble this past weekend, as the Virginia commit for underage possession of alcohol while visiting Charlottesville.

Mizzell was arrested in Charlottesville early Sunday morning, according to local NBC reporter Matt Talheim, who tweeted the news alongside a picture of MIzzell’s mug shot. The minor will face misdemeanor charges for underage drinking, according to Talheim. The arrest reportedly occurred after Mizzell kicked a passing car.
Mizzell, a five-star recruit from Virginia Beach, was a huge get for the Cavaliers, having committed in August. who picked them over 20 other schools. He hadn’t yet taken an official visit to any school before this weekend, when he took a trip to Charlottesville. He’s the only five-star recruit in Mike London’s class, the school’s first since 2005.
As Streaking the Lawn noted, similar offenses have hurt the Cavaliers in the past, costing them Ahmad Bradshaw and quarterback Peter Lalich.
