Junior cornerback David Amerson is leaving the N.C. State Wolfpack to enter the 2013 NFL Draft, according to a tweet from Forbes' Darren Heitner.
David Amerson leaving N.C. State for 2013 NFL Draft
Amerson is leaving early for the NFL, despite having what many would consider a disappointing junior season in Raleigh.

Amerson entered the 2012 seasons with a lot of hype surrounding him, but ended up having a disappointing season. However, that apparently has not affected his decision to leave early.
SB Nation’s Dan Kadar has Amerson rated as the ninth-best cornerback prospect available in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, some players may still enter the draft, so that number could be subject to change.
Amerson finished the season with 61 tackles and five interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. However, the N.C. State pass defense finished well short of expectations, surrendering almost 250 yards per game, good for 85th in the nation. They also gave up 20 passing touchdowns, which is tied for 57th in the nation in that category.
The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is Jan. 15.
