Chip Kelly not Browns’ yet: Eagles, Bills still to interview

Chip Kelly is reportedly still exploring his options, including meeting with Buffalo and Philadelphia.

After seven hours of meetings with the Cleveland Browns, Oregon coach Chip Kelly has reportedly not signed a deal with the franchise, according to Adam Schefter. After spending much of Friday with the Browns, Schefter says, Kelly interviewed with the Buffalo Bills on Friday evening (which the Bills confirmed) and is to interview with the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday. Kelly is exploring his options, but the Browns reportedly remain the favorite in the contest to land his services.

Kelly has been the head coach at Oregon since 2009, compiling a 46-7 record, four years at the top of the Pac-10/Pac-12 standings and three division championships, two trips to the Rose Bowl, one to the Fiesta Bowl, and one to the BCS National Championship Game.

The Browns have not had a winning season since 2007, and an ownership change in 2012 brought about the dismissal of head coach Pat Shurmur and general manager Tom Heckert. The Bills have a similar recent history, with their last winning season coming in 2004, while the Eagles have suffered more high-profile failures.
