How many national championships do Alabama, Notre Dame claim?

Alabama and Notre Dame have had a lot of success over the last century, and they’ve won a bunch of national championships in the process.

The 2013 BCS Championship game brings together two programs that have won -- or claimed -- a lot of national championships over the last century; Alabama claims 14 titles, while Notre Dame claims 11. Only Princeton and Yale claim more, and most of those come from the 19th century.

Additionally, both the USC Trojans and Michigan Wolverines claim 11 national titles, followed by Pittsburgh with nine titles claimed.

Alabama will be looking to add its third title of the BCS era, while Notre Dame is trying to pick up its first national championship since 1988. Below is a breakdown of the national championships claimed by both schools, with major selectors listed next to each year. In many cases, titles were claimed by multiple schools.
