2013 BCS National Championship MVPs: Eddie Lacy on offense, C.J. Mosley on defense

Alabama Crimson Tide running back Eddie Lacy won offensive MVP honors, while linebacker C.J. Mosley earned defensive honors.

The Alabama Crimson Tide beat up the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on both sides of the football, dominating by a final score of 42-14, and they had plenty of key performers on both sides of the ball.

Eddie Lacy was named the offensive MVP. He set the pace early with 10 and 20 yard rushes to give Alabama a 7-0 lead, and another 20 yard rush later set up a second Tide touchdown. A.J. McCarron found Lacy for an 11-yard touchdown reception just before halftime to make it 28-0. Lacy had 140 yards with a touchdown on the ground and added 17 yards through the air.

C.J. Mosley earned defensive MVP honors. The team's leading tackler had another solid performance and plugged up many of the team's holes to keep the Notre Dame offense from getting going. He also had this nice moment that epitomized Alabama dominance on this Monday night in Miami.
