The Oklahoma Sooners overcame an early scare from the Kansas Jayhawks and came away from Lawrence with a 34-19 victory. Oklahoma vs. Kansas final score: Sooners break away after slow start
A 13-0 lead for Kansas was quickly erased as Oklahoma pulled away for a comfortable win.

A blocked punt helped swing the game decisively in Oklahoma’s direction late in the second quarter. Oklahoma had already gotten in the board, but the resultant safety made the score 13-8 and the Sooners scored on the very next play from scrimmage on a trick pass from Lacoltan Bester to Sterling Shepard. The Sooners would not relinquish the lead from there.
Box Score Hero: Blake Bell finished strong with 131 yards passing, 53 more yards on the ground and a pair of scores to pace the Sooners.
Rankings Ramifications: Oklahoma’s No. 18 ranking is more or less secure, though losses ahead of the Sooners will help them move up a couple spots.
But Did They Cover? Oklahoma was a 21.5-point favorite coming into the game. They did not cover.
