Johnny Manziel injury: Texas A&M QB returns after hurting right shoulder

Update: Manziel is back in. His first throw went for a first down.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel left the game against Auburn after hurting his right shoulder.

Manziel was scrambling early in the fourth quarter when he initiated contact with a defender with his left shoulder. As he did that, an Auburn defender tackled him from behind, driving his right shoulder into the ground. The defender landed on top of Manziel, adding some force to the tackle.

Manziel remained down on the field, not moving his shoulder. He was tended to by the training staff, eventually walking off the field on his own. Manziel was later seen on the sideline attempting to rotate his shoulder. After attempting to warm up to come back into the game, Manziel shook his head and indicated to a trainer that he was unable to throw, which meant a trip to a training area near the bench.

There’s been no official word yet from Texas A&M.

Last week, Manziel injured his left knee but was able to return shortly after.
