De’Anthony Thomas exits Oregon win with ankle injury

Oregon’s star running back seems to not be fully recovered from his lingering ankle injury.

Oregon running back De'Anthony Thomas exited the Ducks' 42-14 drubbing of visiting UCLA Saturday night with an ankle injury -- a decision he apparently made himself.

Thomas originally suffered the injury on the Ducks' opening kickoff against Cal, and missed the next three games. Oregon did not seem to miss him much, winning each of those games in blowout fashion, but this game against UCLA was thought to be their first real test of the year.

Thomas ran 10 times for 31 yards and a touchdown, and clearly looked like he lacked some of the explosiveness that led him to 16 total touchdowns as a sophomore in 2012 (and 18 as a freshman in 2011). Turns out Oregon didn't need him in this game, either -- Byron Marshall carried the ball 19 times for 133 yards and three scores as the Ducks cruised to victory.
