On the day, Davis had totaled 51 yards on 19 carries, and had caught ten passes for 99 yards. Coming into the game, he was averaging nearly seven yards per carry, with 879 yards and ten touchdowns.
Davis is an extremely important cog in the South Carolina offense. He has averaged more than 150 all-purpose yardage per game, more than twice that of any other Gamecock player.
Davis walked off the field on his own power -- a very good sign considering how brutal the injury looked. He was able to hop up and jog off. At the time of his injury, South Carolina and Missouri were tied at 24, and the Gamecocks settled for a field goal on the drive. The Tigers missed a field goal on their following drive, giving South Carolina the win.
