Texas A&M’s Tra Carson carted off after injury

Kyle Field was eerily silent during the chilling scene that followed an injury to Texas A&M’s Tra Carson. Coach Kevin Sumlin says Carson should be fine.

Updates:

Texas A&M running back Tra Carson went down with an apparent head/neck injury during the fourth quarter of the Aggies' game against UTEP. Carson went down on what appeared to be a relatively routine tackle, but sat up holding his neck and, after a few seconds, fell back to the turf.

The normally raucous 12th Man crowd in Kyle Field was absolutely silent as trainers attended to Carson and got him boarded up to be carted off on a stretcher.

Carson, a sophomore, is a backup running back for the Aggies. He has rushed for 269 yards and 4 touchdowns this season after sitting out 2012 following his transfer from Oregon.
