Gary Patterson criticizes Art Briles, Baylor

Gary Patterson was not very happy with Art Briles following the game on Saturday.

Art Briles probably shouldn’t expect a holiday card from Gary Patterson this year.

The TCU head coach was critical of Briles and Baylor for the way the Bears handled a targeting ejection during the third quarter of the game on Saturday. Baylor safety Ahmad Dixon was ejected for targeting after an illegal hit on TCU's Trevone Boykin. Patterson was upset by the hit, but also by the way Briles handled the situation. Patterson criticized Briles for going to midfield to talk to Patterson, instead of talking to Dixon on the sideline.

“It’s pretty basic, to the point thing. You’re not going to come across to me. You can go correct your player, not me,” Patterson said, via Stefan Stevenson.

Patterson said his coaches informed him that Dixon had not left the Baylor sideline after being ejected and was instead laughing while being filmed by a television camera. Patterson said he had to inform the officials that Dixon was still on the sideline to get him removed.

“That’s not what I call class. I have respect for him, but that’s not what I’m going to teach my guys.”

Patterson’s postgame comments can be watched below:
