Florida Atlantic is set to fill its vacant head coaching position by hiring Arkansas defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, according to Football Scoop.
FAU to hire Arkansas DL coach Charlie Partridge
The job will not be going to Brian Wright, or even anyone from Ohio State.

It has been a strange, strange year for the Owls, beginning with Carl Pelini’s resignation due to alleged drug use back in November. Pelini was replaced with interim head coach and offensive coordinator Brian Wright, who promptly took a previously reeling Owls team to bowl qualification by going 4-0 down the stretch. They were not selected for a bowl berth, but did show dramatic improvement under Wright.
Still, that was not enough for FAU athletic director Pat Chun, though, who opted to hire Partridge instead.
Partridge began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Drake and served at Pitt for five years as both a defensive line and linebackers coach. He would then spend five more years at Wisconsin as defensive line and special teams coach, before being promoted to assistant head coach/co-defensive coordinator in 2011.
When Bret Bielema left for Arkansas in early 2013, Partridge went with him and served as the Arkansas’ lead recruiter in the Sunshine State, something that will come in extremely handy as the head coach of the Owls.
