2014, 2015, 2016 Notre Dame football schedules announced, including ACC games

The Irish will be playing an extremely tough schedule, facing Michigan, Stanford, Florida State, Arizona State, Louisville and USC next season.

Notre Dame has plenty of detractors around the country, but there’s one thing none of them can deny -- the Irish play one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

Despite their independent status, Notre Dame is not taking it easy with their future scheduling, as the school announced their football slates for the next three years on Friday. Using the “6-5-1” method, the Irish will continue their traditional rivalry games against USC, Navy and Stanford over their next three games, with five games against ACC schools, a yearly “Shamrock Series” (at a neutral site), two home & homes and one home game.

Of particular note is a game against Boston College in 2015 at Fenway Park, as well as games against elite programs Michigan, Florida State, Texas, USC and Michigan State. The Irish will play five games against ACC opponents each year, including some marquee opponents.

The Irish will play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers December 28.
